Liverpool’s vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold has turned 26 years old today and his arrival at England’s training camp came with many surprises from his teammates.
England’s players planned the surprise all morning before the player entered the camp, placing a big banner in the entrance door in which it said ‘Happy birthday Trent’.
Real Madrid’s superstar Jude Bellingham, was hidden behind the banner and he surprised Trent by coming out and saying happy birthday to the player. Later, the midfielder started to make jokes telling Trent that he called and texted him for the right-back to come earlier, because they had to wait more than 20 minutes for him to come.
This friendship between Jude and Trent has been going on since their first match for England, and we already saw it many times across the social medias.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has been one of the most successful defenders in the Premier League since his first debut on 25 October 2016 against Tottenham in the League Cup.
Until now, the defender has won two major trophies with Liverpool, including the 2019 Champions League 2-0 win against Tottenham in the final and the Premier League title in the 20/21 season, in which the Reds achieved a club record with 99 points.
The England full-back has scored 18 goals and provided 81 assists in 319 appearances. He already has 59 assists in the Premier League, the most by a defender in the history of the competition, joined by his Liverpool teammate Andrew Robertson, who has the same amount of assists as Trent.
With the start of the new season under Arne Slot, Alexander-Arnold has been one of the most important players on the team, starting in every match except the Carabao Cup game against West Ham, in which Liverpool’s boss decided to rest the player.
His future at Anfield is still unknown due to his contract running out in the summer of 2025. A lot of European giants have shown interest in the signing of the player, but the most serious one came from the Spanish side Real Madrid.
With Dani Carvajal out for the whole season, Los Blancos are exploring the opportunities to sign a top right-back who can do the job maybe even better than the Spanish defender.
A major role on his decision is rumored to be Jude Bellingham due to the strong bond the players have between each other. In a recent interview, Trent said to the media that the talks with Liverpool’s board will be private and the decision won’t be revealed until the final decision from both sided.
Next challenge that awaits for Trent Alexander-Arnold is the National League match against Greece and as expected the player could be a starter under the new England’s appointed manager Lee Carsley.
