Trent Alexander-Arnold has shared a heartfelt message following what is expected to be his final appearance in a Liverpool shirt, just before the club’s celebratory trophy parade. The right-back came on as a substitute during the Reds’ 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Sunday—their final Premier League game of the season.
The 26-year-old, whose contract expires at the end of June, had previously confirmed his departure from Anfield, with strong indications pointing to a move to Real Madrid on a free transfer. His brief involvement in Sunday’s match was likely his swan song for Liverpool.

After the final whistle, Alexander-Arnold joined his teammates in celebrating Liverpool’s Premier League title win. His name was warmly received by the crowd both during the match and at the trophy presentation ceremony, a moment that clearly resonated with him.
Just a day after stepping onto the pitch for the last time as a Liverpool player, Alexander-Arnold took to social media to express his emotions. Posting on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote: “Fairytale ending,” alongside a red heart emoji and several pictures capturing the post-match celebrations.
His message came just hours ahead of Liverpool’s trophy parade through the city, where fans would once again honor the team’s achievements.
During the festivities at Anfield, Alexander-Arnold was visibly moved as he stood on the pitch with family and close friends. In a touching moment, he was interviewed by former teammate Daniel Sturridge and opened up about what the day meant to him.
“I didn’t really know how it would feel walking out at Anfield again after everything that’s happened recently,” he said to Sky Sports. “But I told the manager I wanted one last opportunity to play for the club—and he gave me that chance at halftime.”
He continued: “The way the fans welcomed me today—it meant more than I can explain. I’ve played so many games here, but I’ve never felt the kind of love I felt today.”
