Another magical performance from the Reds to keep their amazing form on by beating Bournemouth 3-0 in Anfield. Win this win, Liverpool has been placed in the second place, just behind after Manchester City with only one point less.
The weekend’s derby between Man City and Arsenal finished 2-2 in the 98′ minute when John Stones equalized after Arsenal were defending the whole second half with one player less. Leandro Trossard received a red card moments before the half-time whistle and Arsenal had to change their tactics of the game and keep their 2-1 result until the end, but Man City didn’t give up until the end to get their point in Etihad against top tier opponent.
After this Premier League game week, Manchester City sits in first place with 13 points, Liverpool right behind with 12 points leveled with Aston Villa who sits in the third place and Arsenal fourth with 11 points.
The match against Bournemouth showed that Liverpool have no plans on stopping their great form, conceding only 2 goals in the first five Premier League matches.
As for the match, the Red’s performance was exceptional, scoring three goals in only 11 minutes. Luis Diaz who is having the best time of his career at Liverpool with 5 goals and one assist since the start of the new 24/25 season, scored two goals in two minutes to make it double for his team.
In the 37th minute, the Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez, who had his first chance as a starter under Arne Slot, scored a superb goal with his left foot to make it 3-0 before the half-time.
The whole team played great, but some players had more impact during the game. These how we rate Liverpool’s players performance in their recent win:
Caoimhin Kelleher (8/10) – As expected, the Irish goalkeeper replaced Alisson Becker in the best way possible, saving a lot of shots from the opponent and keeping the goal clean once again.
Andrew Robertson (6/10) – Good performance, hard work on both defense and offense.
Virgil van Dijk (8/10) – Exceptional match for the captain, he stopped a lot of attacks, controlled the air game and the ground game perfectly. Kept the team balanced the whole game.
Ibrahima Konate (8/10) – Another great performance by Ibou, showing his improvement every match under Arne Slot. Had the most possession during the whole match, gave a brilliant assist for the first goal of Luis Diaz.
Trent Alexander-Arnold (7/10) – Assisted the second goal of Luis Diaz. He had a good performance the whole game giving a lot of great passes to his teammates in opponent’s half.
Ryan Gravenberch (8/10) – Another masterclass performance from the 22 year-old, proving to everyone that he is the right player for the number 6 position.
Alexis Mac Allister (7/10) – Controlled the midfield, his decisions helped the team to reach the victory.
Dominik Szoboszlai (6/10) – Not his best match, made some great runs and passes in the midfield but the squad is waiting for him to improve so he can show his true potential.
Luis Diaz (9/10) – The best player on the pitch, scoring two goals in only two minutes. His first goal was special, a brilliant stop from Konate’s cross to dribble the keeper and give his team the lead.
Darwin Nunez (7/10) – His first start of the season went really good, scoring an incredible goal with his left from a difficult position.
Mohamed Salah (7/10) – Had some chances where he could do better with the finish, but again the King didn’t leave without a goal contribution, giving an assist to Darwin Nunez.
