Liverpool has suffered their first defeat of the season in the Premier League against Nottingham Forest with a result of 1-0 at Anfield. This came as a shock for every team fan because it was expected that the Reds would keep their winning streak alive with another win at their own stadium.
This performance was completely different from the last one before the international break started. Liverpool won at Old Trafford 3-0 against Manchester United, dominated the whole game, created chances most of the time and the players felt like they were in training.
But this week was different for Arne Slot’s team as they couldn’t make the right decisions and finish the actions in the end. Most of the players were struggling to keep control and make the right passes.
This made the fans really upset as they thought the best decision would be if the Dutch boss would take the players who were performing poorly out of the match.
For Dominik Szoboszlai, it wasn’t his best night. A lot of wrong decisions in midfield, and the fans think he should have been subbed off in the first minutes of the second half.
The same was for Luis Diaz who tried hard to create chances in the attack but his dribbles and passes couldn’t go through as he wanted during the match. He was later subbed off by Slot, and Cody Gakpo came as a replacement.
Diogo Jota had a poor performance too, had one chance but he missed. Fans think that his replacement should have been done earlier, but the Reds boss replaced him in the 60th minute with Darwin Nunez.
This match has already ended and the Reds now will have to focus on their Champions League challenge. They will face AC Milan on 17 September, Tuesday in San Siro. After a year break from the UCL, Liverpool now will have to try and show the world that it was just a poor mistake for them to miss the Uefa Champions League last season.
