Liverpool’s training ahead of the Premier League match against Bournemouth was not as usual as always. The primary goalkeeper, Alisson Becker has done a major change on his look that even the fans were shocked to see it.
He has shaved his iconic beard at now he looks a completely different person. The fans were used to seeing him with a beard and now it will be hard for them to get use to it.
The last time he shaved his beard but not completely like this time was before the last World Cup in 2022 but that didn’t last long and Alisson started to growing it back.
Even his team-mates were joking about his shaved beard in a video that was posted on Liverpool’s account in today’s training. We see Alexis Mac Allister alongside him while making his way into the training.
A lot of fans were reacting on social media about the change and we can see that this was not a common thing to happen. One fan said ‘Why did he shave his aura’. This means that Liverpool’s goalkeeper will lose his presence in the goal and the opponent’s players won’t fear him like they used to before. This is a good joke, but don’t worry Reds he still has the great qualities he used to.
One fan said that his day was ruined and that he didn’t like it at all. This shows the love the fans have to the number one goalkeeper and they want him to see even with a good look.
Another one feels like Alisson now looks even younger and he should continue to expand his contract for another five years. These jokes are completely harmless and that’s what makes this club’s community one of the best fan bases in football.
The Brazilian goalkeeper is having a perfect season with only two goals conceded in his first five games of the new 24/25 season. He only conceded once in the Premier League in the 0-1 loss against Nottingham Forest in Anfield.
His second goal conceded was against AC Milan in the first match of the new Champions League campaign. The team won 3-1, conceding in the first minutes of the match, but the quality of Liverpool’s centre-backs like Ibou Konate and Virgil van Dijk gave them the lead in the first half.
The game finished when Dominik Szoboszlai scored the third goal with a brilliant touch to put one past AC Milan’s goalkeeper Mike Maignan. The assist came from Cody Gakpo who made a magic dribble past the defender to sent the ball straight to Dominik Szoboszlai’s foot.
