Liverpool returns to the UEFA Champions League action after a perfect record since the start of the competition this season. The Reds are ready to take on Los Blancos after winning in the weekend against Southampton with a result of 3-2.
For the moment, Arne Slot’s team is placed third in the league table, scoring 10 goals and conceding only once in the first 3-1 win against AC Milan in which the Italian side took the lead in the third minute of the match from the goal of Christian Pulisic.
Liverpool hopes for another win at their home to keep the winning streak alive but this won’t be an easy task for the Reds due to the recent performances of Carlo Ancelotti’s boys. Real Madrid has won the last two matches of La Liga scoring seven times and keeping the goal clean twice.
Their record in the Champions League is not the best after they won only two matches and lost twice, which places them in the 21st position in the table, but as we have seen the team has started to level up their game.
Liverpool’s starting eleven will look almost the same as the last 3-2 Premier League win. This is how Arne Slot will lineup his team for tonight’s match:
Goalkeeper: Caoimhin Kelleher continues in goal after his amazing performances in the recent games, leaving Alisson Becker on the bench even though he returned from the injury.
Defenders: Andrew Robertson will start as a left-back, Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate will be in the center-back position, with Conor Bradley as a right-back, replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold who has just returned from the injury which will be available from the bench.
Midfielders: Ryan Gravenberch will play as a defensive midfielder alongside Alexis Mac Allister and Curtis Jones.
Attackers: Darwin Nunez starts once again in the striker position alongside Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz who didn’t start and replaced Cody Gakpo in the weekend’s match.
