Liverpool’s right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has stolen the show tonight for England in the 3-1 win against Finland after scoring an outstanding free-kick to give his team the double lead in the 74th minute.
Lee Carsley had a different decision on where the 26-year-old will start, placing him in the left-back position which the player has never played in his professional football career. Trent had a great performance in which he found the net after a magical free-kick from 22 yards.
This marks Liverpool‘s vice-captain his fourth goal for his country and he already has started to become the main player in the three lions squad.
The first goal tonight was scored by Jack Grealish who gave England’s early lead in the 18th minute, after an assist from Angel Gomes. As the game continued, the three lions attacks were awarded with two more goals in the last 20 minutes of the match.
In the 84th minute, Declan Rice smashed Finland’s hopes with his late goal to make the score 3-0. With this win, England is placed second in group 2 with nine points after four games, losing the last match 2-1 against Greece, which are at the top of the table with ten points.
