The Reds achieved an incredible victory in the recent Premier League match against the Wolves, with a result of 2-1, after a header from the French defender Ibrahima Konate, and Mo Salah’s penalty winning goal.
The match started well for Liverpool boys, who kept a lot of possession since the start of the game, but they couldn’t find the net until the last minute of the first half when Diogo Jota sent a brilliant cross into the opponent’s box for Konate to give his team the lead.
As the match continued in the second half, Wolves’s left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri scored one past Liverpool’s goal to equalize the game due to a mistake by both Ibrahima Konate and Alisson in the defense in the 56th minute.
Not much time passed and Liverpool received a penalty from Diogo Jota’s dribble into the box and the referee immediately pointed to the penalty spot. Mohamed Salah once again showed his quality and made no mistake to put the Reds in the lead. With this win, Liverpool was placed at the top of the table, with a point more than second and third place in the league. Pep Guardiola’s team, is placed second after dropping points to Newcastle in the weekend, and after them Arsenal takes the third place.
As for the match, Liverpool’s performance wasn’t the best one since the start of Arne Slot’s era, but it was a very important win for the fight to the top.
