The Brazilian goalkeeper of Liverpool Alisson Becker, has been injured since the last Champions League match against AC Milan in San Siro, where the reds achieved victory with a result of 3-1. This is a perfect start for Arne Slot boys who just got back into the competition with a brilliant win against Italian giants.
Slot has already reported that Alisson’s injury didn’t happen during the match but a few days before the game. In this case, the Dutch manager had to use the number two goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher who replaced Alisson in the best way possible in the last 3-0 win against Bournemouth in Premier League.
Alisson Becker’s influence on the team has been huge since the start of the season, receiving only two goals in five games since the start of the new 24/25 season. He still hasn’t disappointed the team, being one of the best keepers in the world, making crucial saves during difficult challenges in the league.
However, Alisson’s injury is not something new as we saw him last season missing the majority of the matches in all competitions, and this is a big worry for everyone since he is in his last years of the contract with the Reds.
Recently, the number one Liverpool goalkeeper posted an update about his injury on social media. He revealed that he is using a great medical device on his leg to help him with the blood circulation and boost the time of the injury.
Even though he keeps working on getting back on the pitch as soon as possible, his injury is not as major as the last one that left him out for too many matches. The progress is going really well and we hope to see him rejoin the squad in a couple of weeks.
A good thing for the Reds is that Caoimhin Kelleher has already proved himself last season that if it wasn’t for Alisson’s great abilities, we could see him as the number one keeper at Liverpool and this is another huge chance for him to show his big potential while the main keeper is on the sideline.
The next challenge for Liverpool will be against West Ham in their home in the EFL Cup and it’s expected that Arne Slot will once again use Caoimhin Kelleher to be the man in the goal once again. After that, the Reds will face Wolves away in the Premier League where they will try to keep their great form alive with 4 wins and only one loss against Nottingham Forest.
